My name is Jay Cascalenda

I am a certified fitness trainer with a strong passion for helping the people of Saint Paul and across the Twin Cities of Minnesota achieve their fitness and fat loss goals. In fact, if you are interested in a Saint Paul-located fitness boot camp, this is the perfect place for you!

I have been active and athletic my entire life. I grew up playing hockey, golf, baseball, water skiing, and fitness of all kinds. Through hard work, I was fortunate enough to play hockey at the Juniors level (USHL), Division I level (WCHA– University of Minnesota Duluth), and the Professional level (Washington Capitals and Minnesota Wild systems).

I have been training high performance hockey players for over a decade and I have personally witnessed former college and professional athletes retire from their sports and become unhealthy and overweight. Top athletes have become accustomed to eating whatever they want and however much they want… I can relate to this, and since I stopped playing professional hockey in 2011, I have dedicated myself to health and fitness.

I’ve introduced resistance training and high intensity cardio workouts to many athletes over the years. The combination of these two really helped them get in phenomenal shape in a short time period. I’ve also been doing boot camp-style workouts for over a decade, and I believe it is the most rewarding, exciting, and results-achieving workout regimen available.

I discovered Fit Body Boot Camp in 2012. I learned more about their philosophy and dedication to changing lives with a high-intensity fitness boot camp in Saint Paul. I knew it was a perfect fit for me and would help others.

In early 2014, I started Fit Body Boot Camp Saint Paul. The Unstoppable Fitness Formula that Fit Body Boot Camp implements, along with commitment, effort, intensity, and motivation, has given our boot camp members results unlike any ever before.

I was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. This is where my heart and soul is. Hi! My name is Lizz Downey.

I was born and raised in Eagan, Minnesota. I grew up in a highly active six-person family, which was my core influence for becoming involved in any, and every, sport possible. Through track, cross-country, soccer, dance, basketball and softball I gained a love for working up a good sweat. There was something about the family-like feel that left me fascinated with athletics and fitness. Watching my teammates reach goals that they didn’t even believe they could achieve was absolutely exhilarating. I knew the second I stepped on campus at the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2009 that athletics were the way I wanted to go.

I graduated in May of 2012 with a Bachelors Degree in Journalism with an emphasis on sports and started working for the Minnesota Twins in the winter of 2013. Working with the Twins gave me the opportunity to staff their Wellness Committee that lead me to getting my NASM personal training certification in July of 2016. Shortly after, I moved to Augsburg, Germany to watch my boyfriend’s dream of becoming a professional hockey player come true. There, I began training friends and family and I couldn’t get enough of it.

My passion for helping others and athletics had finally collided. I moved home to Minnesota in April of 2017 when Jay opened my eyes to Saint Paul Fit Body Boot Camp. After my first class I was hooked. I walked into the red, white and blue décor room and immediately felt an atmosphere like no other. I quickly noticed the style of training, quick and effective, as proved by the countless success stories scattered on the walls. My attention was held by the respect the members had for the gym as they instantly put the equipment back where it belonged, followed by hard-earned high-fives congratulating each other on another workout completed. I immediately sensed a value in longevity as I talked to members who had been with the gym since it had opened over three years ago. These members knew that the workout was only a part of the equation to live a healthy lifestyle, which could have only been instilled upon them from Jay and his crew. Through my whole first day at FBBC I noticed many things, but most of all, I noticed how quickly it felt like family. Hi! My name is Grace.

I’m originally from a small town in Indiana. I went to Purdue University and originally was trying to decide between majoring in Exercise Science or Athletic Training. I ended up deciding on Athletic Training which has a focus on the treatment and prevention of injuries. I have always had a passion for fitness and like to think of exercising as a hobby. My background in Athletic Training pairs perfectly with the fitness industry because it allows me to facilitate fitness safely and I can use my knowledge of body mechanics to help avoid injuries. I have had experience teaching a variety of fitness classes including bootcamp, and Zumba. My life (mostly my husband’s job) has moved me around a bit over the past few years from Indiana to Illinois and has now brought me to Minnesota. Along with teaching and coaching fitness classes, my Athletic Training degree has allowed me to work in various settings including physicians offices, a physical therapy clinic, and multiple high schools. I currently work part time at Twin Cities Orthopedics as a Clinical Assistant/Outreach Athletic Trainer.

Hi there, my name is Samantha Lamberta.

I was born and raised in North Saint Paul, MN. Fitness and athletics have been a large part of my life since I was a little girl. I grew up playing softball, which turned into me traveling the country to play competitive Fastpitch softball until I was the age of 18. After graduating from high school I decided to attend the University of Minnesota, Duluth. This was where I had to make the difficult decision to devote most of my time to my studies instead of taking time to play college ball. Leaving softball behind meant I needed to find some sort of activity for myself and being that I am extremely competitive it had to be something where there was a challenge involved. I started running. I ran many races, from 5Ks to 10Ks to half marathons. I absolutely loved it but I grew to want more. Before my grandfather passed away he competed in bodybuilding at the age of 45. When I was a teen he would come to almost every softball game and after each game he would tell me that I had the perfect build for bodybuilding but at the young age of 16 I had no interest. As I got older and started to get more involved with weight training I decided to give this whole bodybuilding thing a shot, I competed in my first show at the age of 23 in 2015. I was hooked. I am still competing in bodybuilding to this day. The sport of bodybuilding is what really sparked my passion for fitness in nutrition. It took a lot of trial and error but inevitably it has taught me so much more than I could have ever imagined and is still teaching me new things daily! I’ve always had a huge passion to help people, so after meeting Jay at Fit Body Bootcamp I knew this would be a perfect fit! A place where clients aren’t just a number but they are family and encourage one another, not to mention the intensity of the workouts are right up my alley! It’s a place I will call home and I couldn’t be happier!
