Growing up, I was an athlete. I played competitive sports through high school and college, and as a result, came to understand the value of solace and stress relief from vigorous physical activity. When a sports accident left me injured in 2013, I was heartbroken and handicapped. A torn ACL, PCL, MCL, meniscus, two broken bones and a thigh-high cast kept me from even completing basic tasks, let alone exercise. After undergoing surgery and 18 months of recovery, I again used physical training to push myself back to health. As a mom, I appreciate the benefits of working out more than ever, and Baltimore Fit Body Boot Camp hooked me as soon as I began. Not many months later an opportunity to increase my involvement presented itself and I moved from member to owner. It’s proving to be an exciting and rewarding investment as Baltimore Fit Body Boot Camp helps clients change and improve their lives!
When I walk in the door of Baltimore Fit Body Boot Camp I bring a desire to help others better their quality of life through a fit lifestyle. I have been a personal trainer for five years and part of Fit Body for three. I help clients accomplish their health and fitness objectives, train adults seeking weight lost through improved body composition and proper exercise techniques, and have served as strength and conditioning coach for local young athletes and sports teams. A graduate of Towson University, my degree is in Exercise Science. I also hold a NSCA Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. I’m passionate about what I do and devote all my focus into instructing and motivating each person in my classes at FBBC. So be forewarned- I will expect the same hard work and sweat from you. The results will be worth it!
Fit Body Boot Camp is an essential part of my life. I love the comradery during class, the feeling of community from both staff and members and how the changing work outs continue to challenge me. I started out a mom of two with a running habit; one which had ceased to yield visible results. I’d never been fond of typical gyms and learned FBBC is anything but. Right away I noticed strength gains, and once I began clean-eating habits, I went down a clothing size, toned places I’d never seen tight before, and lost substantial body fat. Serving as manager at the Baltimore FBBC for the last two years has allowed me to share my enthusiasm for the program and utilize my background in group fitness certification instruction. I never tire of seeing what our program and our team can do to assist clients in shaping a healthier lifestyle.
I believe, no matter what you do in life, nothing is more important than your health. I’m passionate about my role in the improvement of clients’ lives and am always eager to assist them make changes for the best.
I have been a personal trainer for seven years, an instructor at Fit Body Boot Camp for five years, and it’s here I combine my love of teaching with my love of health and fitness. Starting out as a classroom teacher for 17 years, I specialized in instructing students with dyslexia and other learning differences before shifting my focus to private tutoring. Growing up, I was a competitive gymnast, and rehab after my first ACL injury in high school introduced me to the weight room. Five more ACL injuries and 22 years later, I gave bodybuilding a try. Now I am a two-time IFPA World Figure Champion and professional IFBB women’s physique competitor. In 2015, I competed in the Olympia in Las Vegas, an accomplishment beyond my wildest dreams. I consider myself a testament to the notion that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and I respect clients who consistently show up and work, understanding that each day another brick is laid.
