Embrace FBBC family! *
For the past 10 years, my weight has been slowly going up, no matter what I did. I have signed up for gym memberships, seen personal trainers and all that, but either my results were temporary and not sustainable or I had no results at all. Finally, it hit me: at 6'3" tall / age of 34, I reached 270 lbs when 2017 arrived. I felt always tired, my productivity at work was slowing down, and I did not want to go to the doctor to find out I was unhealthy. I would always feel uncomfortable around people, especially by a pool or at the beach. Taking my t-shirt off was always out of question :( That's when a couple of friends told me about FBBC: I first fell like it would be another band-aid to the real problem, but decided to try anyway. I was wrong: FBBC changed my life, in the most positive way possible!
I joined FBBC right before the 2016 Christmas/New Years holidays, so with vacations and everything I didn't take it seriously until I woke up on the first day of 2017 and saw 270 lbs on my scale at home. At that moment I decided that if I had to successfully accomplish a new years resolution, that was going to be the one: lose weight and be healthy! 6 months later, I get up this morning and I see 230 lbs on my scale!! I managed to lose around 40 lbs!!! I had to make holes 5 inches tighter on my belt! I feel more energetic, more productive at work, and FBBC helped improve my performance at basketball, a sport that I love to play a couple times a week, but my weight and low energy levels were always slowing me down. But I am not done: Marianna will have to put my picture on the wall again because I am not stopping here!!
FBBC works because of various reasons. First, it has an attainable schedule, with multiple sessions throughout the day not giving you any excuses to miss one. Second, it is only 35min. No need to spend countless hours at the gym no more! But most importantly: it is a family! The trainers are very personable, they will treat like their own family member or close friend. They will twist your ear when you are slacking. They will acknowledge you when you are going above and beyond. They are there for you. And they will go find you when you are afraid of asking. They will teach you a new lifestyle of healthy eating, which is not a diet, it is just what human beings are meant to eat to grow strong and healthy!
My advice to new members: embrace this family! Follow their nutrition advice. Let them push you forward! Be patient and consistent! Keep your mind focused and let your body follow. It will be hard to change your eating habits the first few weeks, it will be tough to get in your car and show up at FBBC the second day. But if you are disciplined, consistent and patient enough, it will be your new addiction. But this an addiction that is good for you! And it will change your life!
