About Jarad & Sativa Albers

About Jarad (The Owner):

Hi! My name is Jarad Albers. I’m a US Military Veteran 11B1P, and I served with the 82nd Airborne Division and the Oregon National Guard. My passion for serving my country and fellow Americans developed early in life, inspired by other great individuals including my parents. My father, a Vietnam veteran, farmed most of his life until his farm was lost in the 80’s. He was devastated, but he continued to move forward, and we moved to Alaska to recover. There begins the path to where I am today. Those hardships molded. My path could have gone one of two ways: I’d either be consumed by circumstance or strengthened with resolve to continue in a positive direction. I watched my mother put herself through college despite caring for three small boys, and I admired her strength. These lessons awakened in me a desire to help people around me, and they gave me the compassion and empathy to recognize pain in others. I realized I wanted to do something with my life greater than my own, which eventually took me to the military.

This is where my fitness interests began. Fitness is important to doing your job as a soldier. However, nutrition wasn’t discussed much, except in terms of getting enough calories before field exercise so that we’d stave off food and sleep deprivation. However, while in active duty service, my First Sergeant allowed me to apply for a Basic EMT course. This course introduced me to a wide range of information. I found the physiology of the human body to be the most intriguing. I was asked to instruct the next course and realized I enjoyed teaching.

When my wife Sativa and I married and left the military, we began a family. I enrolled in the local community college, and my goal was to become a nurse. This is where I began to realize I have a passion for studying nutrition. With money getting tight, the program proved to be more challenging than expected. It also ended up taking longer than my GI Bill could last, and when we had our second child…. well….I needed a job. Eventually, I found my way into an apprenticeship with the local utility company and worked my way into the engineering industry.

Looking back, I can see God’s hand using this chain of events to teach me business and customer service (even though it was challenging). When I consider all my life’s experience, I feel blessed to now be a part of something that excites me every in every possible way, including being a part of something greater than myself. I look forward to working with clients and teaching them all the skills I have learned. We are not just any other fitness gym here at Corvallis Fit Body Boot Camp. We are changing lives and shaping new ones. As the Military says, we are “in the trenches with you”! I look forward to meeting you all. See you at the gym. HOOAH!

About Sativa (The Co-Owner):

Hi! My Name is Sativa Albers. I have been a stay-at-home mom of two and wife to my wonderful husband of 20 years. I have always loved nutrition, homesteading, gardening, and spending time with the family. I love finding new ways to make life easier as things get hectic. That is why I am so excited to bring Corvallis Fit Body Boot Camp to the Willamette Valley, where we give you 30 minutes of HIIT training that will kick your metabolism into high gear and give you back time in your busy schedules. I understand how hectic it is to juggle being both a mom and a wife.

5 years ago, I injured my back and had to go through emergency back surgery. Since then, I’ve had to go through numerous physical therapy sessions, which made me gain weight in the process. It has been a long road to recovery, but one thing I learned is that the TRX systems that we offer at Corvallis FBBC are the same systems that many physical therapists use. They work out your core without having to be on the floor. For me, this is exciting as I am both the owner of this boot camp and a client too. I am also on a journey to reach my best fitness potential, just as you are. That is why I am committed to bringing some of the best tips and tricks from my kitchen to yours. Meal planning ideas, food on the go ideas, and quick fix meals ideas are only part of the content you can expect in the videos we’ll share with you.

Through our own personal life journeys, Jarad and I and came to realize this was the life course we wanted to take. We want to serve more than 50,000 residents of the Willamette Valley area as we aim to impact and improve the lives of the local community that we LOVE.
