About Brandon FBBC
Welcome! My name is Christopher Dorion and I’m proud (and excited!) to be bringing Fit Body Boot Camp (FBBC) to YOU, right here in Brandon! As you may or may not know, Fit Body Boot Camp is a 30-minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) program that is designed to help you lose weight and burn fat faster than conventional methods of exercise.
Our mission at Brandon Fit Body Boot Camp isn’t just to help you achieve (and surpass!) your physical fitness goals. We are here to help instill a positive mindset that will allow you to achieve and dominate anything you put your mind to! Believe me, waking up in the morning knowing that there’s nothing that you can’t do is an awesome feeling! Lastly, by creating the changes YOU desire, you will in turn positively impact and change the lives of those around you and enhance the Tampa Bay community.
But before we get started, let me tell you why I KNOW I can help you achieve your fitness and personal goals.
Since childhood, I have been actively engaged in sports and exercise (baseball, football, boxing, and now rugby!), but my passion for coaching fitness didn’t begin until after I had graduated from nursing school.
You see, in May 2009, I graduated from Nursing school and I approached the Air Force about becoming a Flight Nurse at MacDill AFB. “Absolutely!” they said. However, there was just one problem: I was too heavy! Per the regulations, I was 30 pounds overweight and my waist size was an inch from being an automatic failure on the physical fitness assessment. The recruiter told me I had 8 months to “shape up” and get ready for the Entrance Physical. So, I began doing High Intensity Interval Training, weight lifting and creating meal plans to determine the calories necessary for weight loss. The 8 months flew by and when I went for my Entrance Physical I discovered I had lost 38 pounds (244 to 206) and lost 5 inches on my waist (38 to 33). I hadn’t been at those numbers since I was a Senior in High School (10 years earlier!). I passed the physical and was granted a Commission into the Air Force.
During my time in the Air Force, I have helped many of my fellow Airmen stay Fit to Fight by creating workouts and meals plans that have helped them achieve their fitness and nutrition goals.
Additionally, as a civilian nurse, I have seen the physical, mental, and financial impact that obesity has on people. So many hospital visits and admissions for hypertension, heart failure, respiratory disorders, and Type 2 Diabetes (to name a few) are actually preventable with proper diet and exercise. Furthermore, with the rising cost of healthcare and insurance premiums, there’s no better time than now to begin instilling the importance of proper diet and exercise in terms of preventive medicine.
With my own experiences, I KNOW I can help YOU achieve your personal fitness goals and positively change mindset. I KNOW it can be scary and difficult, but I will be with you every step of the way!
