Once I graduated from college I joined Phoenix Fitness gym with one of my good friends Joey. Joey was supposed to be my workout partner and motivation. However a personal trainer named Vince quickly stole him from me, leaving me stranded and going on solo missions to the gym. I listened to what the trainers said in the session and made it my focal point for the next 12 weeks. My goals were to work hard in the g5ffi, run hard, follow the meal plan and stop drinking alcohol. For the next 12 weeks I did just that.

My first weigh in was a real eye opener. I stepped on the scale and the numbers staring back at me read 306 pounds! I was now oflicialty a member of the 300 club.
As the days went on I watched weight fly offme! Every week it was exciting and rewarding to weigh in at the gym. I'll admit there were times I didn't want to go to the gym, for a run, or follow my meal plan. But with the encouragement of friends, family,
and especially people at Phoenix Fihess I made it through those challenging times. In the end I dropped 43 pounds, lost 19 overall inches and cut 6% body fat. I am exhemely happy with the results achieved and I arn excited that I have adopted a new way of living.

As I emerged from winter hibernation I took stock as many people do and thought it was time to lose the spare tire and to look and feel better for the summer. But as the stock taking continued I realized that I was now closer to 50 than 40
and that this endeavor could prove challenging.

I also realized that all the activities that my 8 year old autistic son enjoys would require me to be in pretty good shape as well. He likes long fast walks and hikes, swimming, and cycling (acttually I do the cycling while he enjoys the view.Many autistic children tend to become over weight because they must be engaged to take part in any physical activity.

Through getting in better shape and dropping the pounds I am now convinced that the two of us can maintain a healthy weight and take pafiin the activities he so enjoys for many years.
